The way one last leaf
Upon a Winter’s branch
Held by will alone
If not by chance
Reminded me of the coming cold
Branches will break too
Before I grow old.
By Clinton Van Inman
Clinton Van Inman was born in Walton-on-Thames, England, is sixty-five and teaches high school in Tampa Bay, Florida. He graduated from San Diego State University. He refuses to be classified or reduced to any system or ism of thought and believes that poetry, in order to maintain its authenticity and being the most honest of all disciplines, must continue to free itself from philosophy and religion. He continues to fight for "the cause" in a world he believes demands a greater Romantic awakening. He is married and lives in Sun City Center, Florida.
